The cause of the explosion that destroyed a house in Chemung last week has been determined to be a faulty propane tank.
A one-pound propane tank malfunctioned and caused the explosion and fire inside the home on County Route 60 on Friday afternoon.
A male resident was injured in the incident and remains in the hospital.
