The investigation into the death of the Chemung County Attorney has been completed. Matt Rosen died from hypothermia that followed consumption of alcoholic beverages. The attorney attended a Christmas party in Horseheads on December 22nd. At about midnight, he left the party to attend a second party. He apparently became disoriented and eventually crossed a large field and lost consciousness behind a farm house. Officials said that alcohol contributed to his death, and there were no other substances involved. The temperature that evening was about 34 degrees with some rain and snow. There was no indication of foul play, and the investigation has been closed.
