Lockwood man charged after crashing truck into house in Chemung

A pickup truck crashed into a home in Chemung on Tuesday night following a high-speed chase with police.

The crash occurred at around 9:30 p.m. on Dry Brooke Road in Chemung. The truck was lodged into the house when first responders arrived.

The driver of the truck, 43-year-old Lockwood resident Terry Murray, has been charged with multiple counts following the incident.

According to the New York State Police, Murray was involved in a pursuit with Sayre Borough Police before crossing into New York and crashing into the home in Chemung.

First responders removed two injured people from inside the home. A 71-year-old woman was taken to the Robert Packer Hospital with serious injuries, while a 76-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Murray has been charged with first degree vehicular assault, driving while intoxicated with a prior conviction within 10 years and aggravated unlicensed operation.
