Voters in the Elmira City School District approved a $139 million dollar capital improvement project on Tuesday.
The project will include upgrades in every school building in the district as well as upgrades to the athletic facilities, the bus garage and maintenance building.
The school district’s cooling systems, playgrounds and roofs are also going to be part of the project.
The Elmira City School District expects New York State to provide $119 million dollars in aid with the district covering the remaining 20 million dollars.
The project plans will be finalized in January with a completion date set in 2030.
