History was made on Tuesday as WETM-TV won its first-ever Emmy Award for its story on the life and legacy of the late Peyton Shaw.
Peyton was a multi-sport standout at Waverly High School before she tragically passed away in a car accident last December at the age of 17.
WETM Sports Director Andy Malnoske was honored with an Emmy for the best Sports Story of the Year in New York City on Tuesday.
The Emmy win was the first in the history of WETM-TV, which first hit the airwaves in 1956.
