The historic Chemung Speedrome is up for sale.
According to a Facebook post, the local track is looking for someone to buy or lease the property.
The Chemung Speedrome had been leased out for the past seven years. The previous operator has moved on to a position at another race track.
The original race course was built in 1951 by the father and grandfather of NASCAR drivers Brett, Geoff and Todd Bodine. It closed down in 1978 but was then reopened in 2000 and has been operating ever since.
Anyone interested in purchasing or leasing the Chemung Speedrome can contact John White at 631-745-9805 or emailing [email protected].
