Visitors to downtown Elmira no longer have to worry about feeding the meter.
The city has decided to move away from parking meters and go to free, two-hour parking.
There were over 500 parking meters within the city, mostly in downtown Elmira.
Logistics are still being worked out, including hours of enforcement and potential penalties.
Visitors can also still pay to park at the Centertown Parking Garage if they don’t want to worry about the two-hour time limit.
