A Corning woman will spend time in jail after pleading guilty to a felony rape charge.
According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, 46-year-old Jolene Spaulding was sentenced to six months in the county jail followed by 10 years of probation after she pleaded guilty to rape in the third degree.
Spaulding was charged in June of last year after an investigation revealed she was involved in an inappropriate relationship with a child at the Hillside Children’s Center-Snell Farms in Bath. She was employed at the center at the time of the crime.
Spaulding will be required to register as a sex offender in New York as part of her sentence.
