ELMIRA, N.Y. — Elmira College brought together students, educators, and community members for its fifth annual Climate Teach-In.

The event featured an interactive fair inside Speidel Gymnasium, where local organizations, businesses, and students showcased a wide range of climate-related projects and initiatives.

Participants of all ages, from young students to college-level presenters, shared work focused on environmental issues and potential solutions. Displays covered topics including weather, biology, local government, and sustainability efforts.

Organizers say the event continues to grow each year, with hundreds attending to learn more about climate science and ways to reduce environmental impact.

The teach-in also included panel discussions exploring the connections between climate and areas such as faith, athletics, and the arts.

Outside, an upcycle flea market gave attendees a chance to donate or exchange items rather than sending them to landfills.

Elmira College plans to host the event again in March 2027.
