An Elmira man will spend decades in state prison for murder.
Michael Williams, Jr., who is now 18 years old, was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison after he was convicted in October of second degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
Williams was 17 years old when he shot and killed 21-year-old J’Sean Williams at his own birthday party at a home on Richard Street in Southport on Nov. 15, 2024. The two men are not related.
Michael Williams fled the scene and was arrested several days later in Binghamton.
Following his prison term, he will have to serve five years of post release supervision.
