Elmira man sentence to state prison on drugs, weapons charges

An Elmira man will spend years in state prison for selling meth to an undercover investigator.

According to the US Attorney’s Office, 44-year-old Albey H. Braster was sentenced on Wednesday to 128 months in state prison.

He was convicted of distributing five grams or more of meth and being a felon in possession of firearms.

On several occasions between December of 2023 and January of 2024, Braster sold over 166 grams of meth, four firearms and more than 100 rounds of ammunition to an undercover New York State Police investigator.

The Elmira Police Department and ATF Violent Crime Task Force assisted the New York State Police in this case.
