The Elmira Police Department has kicked off its annual Elmira Animal Shelter Holiday Donation Drive.
The goal is to collect items to support care of animals at the shelter.
The drive is held in honor of Yolanda Lopez, who served the City of Elmira for 44 years and was passionate about advocating for animals.
Donations will be accepted throughout December at the Elmira Police Department Records Bureau, located at 312 Lake Street, and on the third floor of city hall near the city manager’s office.
Here is a complete list of items that the police department is looking to collect:
• Dog & puppy food
• Durable dog toys (Nylabone, Bullymake, etc.)
• Cat/kitten food (Purina)
• Non-clumping cat litter
• Returnable cans/bottles
• Laundry detergent & dryer sheets
• Floor cleaner (Pine-Sol, Lysol Multi-Surface, Fabuloso)
• Sponges, dish soap, bleach
• Garbage bags (13 gal. or 33+ gal.)
• Gift cards (Amazon, Tractor Supply, Walmart, Target, Visa)
