A fire destroyed one home and damaged another in Elmira on Friday night.
The fire occurred at around 5 p.m. on the 600 block of West Third Street.
Initial reports stated that people were possibly trapped in the home.
Firefighters were able to put out the fire and search for anyone inside the building. No injuries have been reported from the incident.
Despite the quick response, the fire did reach into the wall and attic space of a neighboring home.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
