The Village of Horseheads has a new law aimed at cracking down on unwanted solicitation.
Under the new “No Knock Law,” if a solicitor knocks on a door that has any type of “no soliciting” sign, they can be charged a $250 fine for each violation.
The village will provide free “No Knock Home” stickers for residents.
The new law went into effect on March 1.
Any resident who would like a no knock sticker can call the village office at 607-739-5691. They will be available starting on March 16.
