BATH, N.Y. — Two people have been arrested in connection with the suspicious death of a 61-year-old man in Bath.
Village police say 34-year-old Zachariah Cole and 37-year-old Heather Baker were taken into custody following an investigation into the incident, which began February 6 on West Washington Street.
Officers responding to the scene found the man deceased inside a home.
Investigators allege the pair delayed calling for help, tampered with evidence, and provided false information to police. Authorities also say the victim had been given methamphetamine, which contributed to his death.
Cole and Baker are charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, and falsifying business records.
Both were arraigned and remanded to the Steuben County Jail without bail.
