Two men are facing charges connected to the exploitation of a child in Steuben County.
According to the New York State Police, 20-year-old Corning resident William Kibler and 24-year-old Jacob Hanes of California have been charged with felony promoting a sexual performance by a child less than 17 and endangering the welfare of a child.
Police started an investigation in November after the 15-year-old victim’s parents found evidence of inappropriate online communications allegedly between the victim and two adult men.
Police said the investigation revealed that Kibler and Hanes participated in sexually explicit communications with the victim on Snapchat and Instagram.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
