Wineglass Marathon weekend is underway in the Corning area, bringing runners, spectators and temporary traffic changes to communities along the course.

The Williams Toyota Wineglass 5K is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3. The Wegmans Wineglass Half Marathon begins at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, and the Guthrie Wineglass Marathon begins at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 4.

Race organizers say the full and half marathons use point-to-point courses. Participants must take official buses to their starting areas, with transportation departing from Bath or Corning. The half marathon starts in Campbell and finishes on Market Street in Corning.

The marathon course is not fully closed to vehicles, but organizers say more than 10 miles will be limited to westbound traffic while runners are on the route. Normal traffic flow is scheduled to resume in stages, reaching Coopers Plains at about 1 p.m. and the area near Interstate 86 Exit 43 in Painted Post at about 1:30 p.m.

Drivers should expect temporary stops, one-way restrictions and extra pedestrian activity Sunday morning and early afternoon. Race officials ask motorists and spectators to follow directions from law enforcement and course personnel.

The races are USA Track and Field-certified and sanctioned for 2026. Organizers describe the weekend as an effort to showcase the region and support the community while providing a safe experience for runners.
