An Elmira woman was arrested last week after she allegedly fought and bit a Chemung County Sheriff’s Deputy during an incident in the Town of Southport.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, 33-year-old Britney Adams was charged with assault in the second degree, a Class D felony, and misdemeanor counts of obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.

Deputies responded to The Glove House in Southport for a report of someone trying to enter the building by kicking the door. Police tried to place Adams under arrest, but she reportedly resisted and punched a deputy in the face in addition to biting them.

Adams processed and taken to the Chemung County Jail.
