SHARE NOW

An evergreen wreath on the graves of all Fallen Heroes, at the entrance to every cemetery and at the headstones of as many veterans as possible is the objective of the 12th annual Wreath across America program in Tioga, Bradford and Northern Susquehanna Counties and the Valley communities of Waverly, South Waverly, Sayre and Athens.

Remember the Fallen, Honor Those Who Served and Teach Children the Value of freedom is the purpose of the Saturday, Dec. 14, ceremony at noon at the Tioga County Veterans Memorial and Tioga County Civil War Memorial in Owego. Wreaths will be laid by the Honor Guard of Post 1371 VFW at the Iraq/Afghanistan, Vietnam, Korea, World Wars One and Two and Tioga County Memorials and by the 137th New York Voluntary Infantry at the Civil War Memorial.

Scoutmasters Ralph Trenchard and Matt Lewis’ Boy Scout Troop 60 will post wreaths in front of the memorials for the 18 Tioga County Fallen Heroes buried in Overseas Military Cemeteries. New Eagle Scout Ryan Trenchard and fellow Boy Scouts will place balsam wreaths at their headstones in cemeteries and say their names.
