Flood Warning In Effect For Susquehanna River

A Flood Warning is in effect for the Susquehanna River at Conklin, Vestal, and Waverly/Sayre.  As of this morning, the Susquehanna River at Vestal is experiencing Moderate Flooding, with the river cresting at 21 feet.  Just Monday morning the river at that location was only 7 feet deep.

Minor Flooding is occurring along the Susquehanna River in Conklin and Waverly.

The river gauge on the Susquehanna in Binghamton is reporting “Near Flood Stage”.

Finally the river gauge in Owego, located at the confluence of the Susquehanna River and the Owego Creek is indicating that the river is at capacity, although along lower parts of the river minor flooding is occurring.  Those areas include Hickories Park, which is closed, and the River Walk which is behind river row on Front Street where basements are taking on water.
