A former attorney for Chemung County and Schuyler County is facing serious charges following an investigation.
According to the New York State Police, Jessica M. Saks has been charged with larceny in the third degree and offering a false instrument for filing.
She is accused of falsifying bills and financial records which led New York State to reimburse her nearly $20,000 she wasn’t entitled to.
Police said Saks forged documents to claim personal expenses and benefits for her office employees.
Saks was arraigned in Albany City Court and released.
