A former Oneonta firefighter is credited with saving his fiancé and four children from an apartment fire on early Saturday morning. Sadly, John Heller was not able to make it out of the third-floor apartment himself. One of the children was injured and taken to Fox Hospital in Oneonta. The cause of the fire on Walling Avenue in Oneonta has not yet been determined.
