The National Weather Service in Binghamton is continuing its heat advisory until 8PM tonight. The heat index values are again expected to reach close to 100 with temperatures in the 90s. The highest heat indices will be from mid to late afternoon. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives, neighbors, and pets.
