A Hornell man was convicted on multiple charges for violently shaking his three-month old daughter back in 2022.
According to the Steuben County District Attorney’s Office, 26-year-old Robert Taft was found guilty on two counts of assault, reckless assault of a child and reckless endangerment.
Eyewitness testimony and evidence showed that Taft violently shook his daughter in October of 2022. The victim suffered a near fatal brain injury and has permanent brain damage from the incident.
Taft will be sentenced on Aug. 1. He faces up to 25 years in state prison.
