An inmate at the Elmira Correctional Facility was injured after scaling one of the fences at the prison.
According to the New York State Department of Corrections, a prisoner was seen climbing the inner fence at the prison on Monday.
The inmate was ordered to stop, but continued to the top of the fence before he fell to the ground. He never made it outside the facility’s perimeter.
The prisoner complied with orders after he was on the ground. There was no danger to the community during the incident.
