Judge arrested over aggressive handshake with police chief in Bath

A judge in Bath was arrested following a confrontation with the Police Chief at a village board meeting on Monday.

Judge Robert Plaskov was charged with harassment in the second degree after he allegedly initiated a handshake with Police Chief Colin Taft and refused to let go.

When Taft tried to pull away, the judge allegedly pulled back hard and abruptly, causing the chief to fall forward and hit his shin on a chair.

Police said the incident was on video and was witnessed by many people.

The judge was processed and released to appear in court on Nov. 5.
