The Bradford County Department of Public Safety, Bradford County Commissioners and State Representatives Tina Pickett and Clint Owlett helped recognize six heroes, who, on April 7, contributed to the successful rescue of an entrapped fire victim from a residence engulfed in flames in Wysox.
The patient was flown to a burn center for observation and has since made a successful recovery.
The first responders honored were 911 Deputy Director Stacy Cotter, who was on the phone with the entrapped victim, and 911 Dispatcher Justin McCarthy who transmitted the box alarm immediately to ensure resources quickly arrived on scene.
Jeremy Sheets and Tanner Keeney, officers of the Wysox Fire Department, along with Jarrett Sheets and Brandon McClinko of the Towanda Fire Department, arrived on scene and collectively, were involved in the safe extrication and removal of the patient from the burning building and delivered to EMS care.
