$50,000 will be used to help prevent fire related deaths across 26 counties in New York. The money was donated by the Fire Adjustment Company Incorporated to the American Red Cross’ Home Fire Campaign. The goal of this campaign is to cut the number of fire related deaths by 25% over 5 years. As part of the campaign, evacuation plans have been created for residents throughout the area by Red Cross Volunteers. Free fire alarms have also been installed in homes that need them. Since July 2015 alone, nearly 3,000 fire alarms have been installed through this program. If you are in need of a fire alarm, you can call the American Red Cross at (716) 878-2353.
