The election isn’t until next year, but Congresswoman Claudia Tenney already has an opponent for the 22nd District. Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi announced his candidacy yesterday in Utica. The 38-year-old Democrat has been a member of the state Assembly since 2011 and is expected to receive strong support as Democrats have targeted the 22nd District as one of their national priorities in 2018. Tenney, a Republican, just took office in January. The 22nd district stretches from Binghamton to the Mohawk Valley.
