Cortland Man Claimed He Was Stabbed but Intoxicated and Fell on Knife

Investigators of the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division have determined a man, who claimed he was stabbed by an unknown person at a residence in the Village of McGraw, was actually intoxicated and fell on the knife. The man called Cortland County 911 on Wednesday to report he was stabbed on Tuesday evening, according to sheriff’s investigators. He was taken by ambulance to Upstate Medical Hospital in Syracuse, where he remained Thursday afternoon.

The investigation is continuing and an arrest is pending.
