An Elmira man is facing charges in Waverly after allegedly stealing a purse out of a parked car. Village police arrested 30-year-old Jonathan Sitler last night, following their investigation into a report of a man stealing a purse out of an unlocked parked car on Waverly Street. Sitler was located at a home on Center Street, attempting to hide in a closet. He was taken into custody, arraigned on a felony charge of grand larceny, and sent to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 property bond.
