It was graduation weekend for Binghamton University and Ithaca College. At BU, the school handed out nearly 3,700 bachelor’s and master’s degrees over seven ceremonies in the Events Center. Yesterday’s Harpur College ceremony included commencement speaker Tony Kornheiser. The sportswriter and TV personality graduated from BU in 1970. Senator Charles Schumer spoke at one of the other ceremonies. Ithaca College hosted their commencement ceremony yesterday at Butterfield Stadium. 1969 graduate Bill D’Elia – an executive producer and director of the TV series “How to Get Away with Murder” – was this year’s commencement speaker. Cornell University will hold graduation ceremonies next weekend, while Cortland honored their graduates last week.
