A man was rescued after falling and breaking his leg at Buttermilk Falls State Park in Ithaca yesterday. Rescuers were called to the state park around 2:30pm after they say a 36-year-old man broke his leg while trying to jump into the water from a gorge trail. Firefighters rappelled down to him and hauled him back up using a rescue basket. Park officials remind the public that swimming is illegal at Buttermilk Falls and to stay on marked trails for your own safety.
