A new community clock will be coming to Sayre’s downtown district. At a meeting earlier this week, Sayre Borough Council members approved the purchase of the community clock. The clock will be shipped from its manufacturer in Ohio and cost just over $21,000. Council members say that over $9,000 has already been raised through community donations and the sale of plaques which are being placed around and on the base of the clock. Plaques can be purchased at prices ranging from $125 to $500. The clock is expected to be shipped by mid-November and an official unveiling of the clock will be held on November 25th. If you are interested in purchasing a plaque prior to the unveiling, you can do so by calling the Sayre Borough offices at (570) 888-7739.
