A number of theaters across the state have voiced concern over the state’s possible approval of four new casinos, as they believe the casinos could create heavy competition for booking acts and attracting audiences. Theaters in Elmira, Schenectady, Saratoga, Albany, and Kingston have said that while they are not opposed to the casino expansion, they would like to see some ground rules in place to limit casino theater seating and future growth of any new casinos.
