Two individuals are dead and three were taken to the hospital following a head-on collision that occurred on Route 706 in Wyalusing Township. 19-year-old Troy Stone of Wyalusing was said to have been driving a 2007 Silverado with three passangers, when he attempted to pass a vehicle in front of them. As Stone crossed the center line, he collided with an oncoming car being driven by 33-year-old Stacy Short of Wyalusing. Stone’s vehicle spun around and careened into several trees before coming to rest down an embankment. Two of Stone’s Passanger’s 18-year-old Colin Flynn and 19-year-old Brendan Hall have been pronounced dead. Stone, short, and 20-year-old Kara Johnson, another passenger in Stone’s vehicle were all transported to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre for their injuries. Police say that no one in Stone’s vehicle was wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, and underage drinking is believed to be a factor. Police, however, are still investigating.
