The New York State Police arrested a man after a high-speed Route 81 pursuit in mid-September. The suspect was found to be operating a stolen motorcycle; he was also in possession of an apparent pipe bomb and methamphetamine. 34-year-old Brian Deamer of Harrisville, New York was charged with felony Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. He was also charged with misdemeanors and given traffic tickets. The suspect passed a trooper at a high rate of speed in Cortlandville. The trooper attempted to stop the motorcycle but Deamer failed to comply. The pursuit was terminated when the trooper felt it was unsafe to continue in a work zone. Shortly after, the motorcycle crashed in the median in the town of Tully. The trooper located Deamer who continued to resist arrest, but he was taken into custody with the assistance of another trooper and a work zone worker. Deamer was arraigned and remanded to the Cortland County Jail.
