The man convicted of killing an Elmira man and attacking a woman has been sentenced to over four decades in prison.
According to WENY-TV, 51-year-old James Lee attacked two people at a home on Oak Street in Elmira in May of 2018. Lee killed Shida Gilliam and tried to kill a woman.
Lee was convicted of murder, attempted murder and assault in 2024.
He was sentenced on Friday to 25 years to life in prison for the murder charge and an additional 20 years for attempted murder and assault.
