A Binghamton man is facing felony charges after he allegedly started a fire on Monday.
According to police, 32-year-old Evan M. Cusack has been charged with attempted murder in the second degree and arson in the second degree, both Class B felonies.
Cusack is accused of starting a fire at a two-family home on Emmett Street in Binghamton at around 6 am on Monday.
All residents and multiple pets were safely removed from the building. No injuries have been reported from the incident.
An investigation by Binghamton Police and the Binghamton Fire Marshall’s Office determined that Cusack intentionally started the fire using an accelerant from outside the building.
Cusack was arrested hours after the fire and remanded to the Broome County Jail.
