A Binghamton man pleaded guilty to a drug charge in Broome County Court.

According to the Broome County District Attorney’s Office, 25-year-old Jacob C Brown pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance in exchange for a sentence of eight years in New York State Prison.

The plea deal came after an investigation conducted by the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force.

Officers found a quarter pound of meth hidden under a child’s car seat during a traffic stop in Vestal in March.

Jacob Brown and 25-year-old Lacey N. Brown were charged with the drug charge and endangering the welfare of a child due to three children being in the vehicle during the incident.

Brown admitted to possessing the drugs with intent to sell.

He will be sentenced in January.
