A Binghamton University student is in the running to be the next American Idol.
Jesse Findling is a current junior at BU where he is studying biology and musical theater.
The Long Island native, who uses music to overcome a stutter, performed the song In The Stars by Benson Boone for his audition.
He received a standing ovation from judges Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan. He was awarded with a Golden Ticket to the next round, which is Hollywood Week.
American Idol can be seen Monday nights at 8 on ABC.
