The Broome County District Attorney’s office now has an indictment for Orlando Tercero on second degree murder, in what authorities are now calling the strangulation death of 22-year-old BU Nursing student Haley Anderson. Tercero is currently in custody in Nicaragua. Efforts to extradite Tercero will now be handled by the United States Department of State. DA Cornwell does not know how long extradition might take. Funeral services for Haley were held Sunday on Long Island.
