Broome County Executive Jason Garnar has declared a State of Emergency in Broome County due to flooding effective August 14, 2018 at 10AM. The following emergency orders have been issued:
- No recreational use of waterways in Broome County
- Do not drive on flooded roadways
The State of Emergency has been declared due to flooding across the county resulting in flooded roadways and damage. The Broome County Emergency Operations Center has been activated. Residents are asked to follow all emergency alerts and to monitor the weather forecast and road conditions frequently. The State of Emergency will remain in effect until further notice.
