An audit by the New York State Comptroller’s office indicates that the fiscal health of Broome County is improving. From 2014 to 2016, the county has been rated as in ‘significant stress’. The 2017 rating lists the county as ‘susceptible to fiscal stress’. County Executive Jason Garner stated that he will foster further improvement through responsible budgeting.
