Broome County Executive Jason Garnar delivered his 2019 State of the County last night in Binghamton. The theme for Garnar’s address was the “Power of Partnerships.” The Executive said the county has made so much progress over the last few years and none of that would have been possible without a team approach. In his address Garner said the local economy is improving, and the county finances are stronger. Broome County is developing responsible budgets and producing a tax cut for the first time in 14 years. Garnar also noted that Broome County is leading the way in fighting the heroin epidemic with a drastic decrease in fatal overdoses in 2018.
