A busy area in Endicott was shut down for several hours on Friday when a suspicious package was found unattended. It happened near the Citgo gas station on East Main Street and Vestal Avenue. The device was detonated, near the former K-Mart Plaza. The package, was actually a piece of tan luggage. Authorities are investigating further. Students and staff at the Jennie F. Snapp Middle School, which is across the street from the K-Mart Plaza, were not affected.
