The Binghamton Fire Department responded to a structure fire at a multi-family home on Wednesday afternoon.
The fire started just after 3 p.m. on Haendel Street in Binghamton. Firefighters encountered heavy fire on the second floor and quickly stretched a line inside, successfully knocking down the main fire within 10 minutes.
Firefighters spent about an hour addressing hot spots and conducting a thorough overhaul of the scene.
No occupants were inside the building at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported from the incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
