Former Johnson City Middle School Principal Daniel Erickson is facing a new charge of sexual exploitation of a child.

The FBI arrested Erickson on Sept. 25th after new evidence was discovered during an investigation into previous child sex-related charges.

According to WBNG-TV, Erickson allegedly used Snapchat to send a 10-year-old girl messages, pressuring her to send photos and videos to him in December of 2022. Erickson also allegedly sent videos to the victim.

Erickson was originally arrested in July of 2023 and charged with luring a child and attempted rape. That case involved a victim who was 16 years old. He would plead guilty to the luring a child charge in April.

In September, the New York State Police arrested Erickson for second degree rape. The crime was allegedly committed in July of 2022 against a 14-year-old girl. He was released on bail, and those charges are still pending.

The FBI obtained a search warrant for the Snapchat account he used when messaging the original victim, which led to them discovering the new evidence for the latest charge.
