The Johnson City Police Department has arrested six people following an investigation into a large retail theft scheme.
The investigation began on Jan. 21 and police found that a group of suspects, some employees of the retail store, had worked together to steal almost $80,000 in merchandise.
The employees worked with the other suspects to facilitate unauthorized discounts on store merchandise, with many of the discounts reaching 99 percent off.
Police arrested Alexzeya Brooks of Endicott and Binghamton residents Andre Forbes and Damani Mizell and charged them with enterprise corruption, numerous counts of grand larceny and falsifying business records.
Binghamton resident Lytiek Gadson was charged with enterprise corruption and grand larceny, while Binghamton resident Orion Sandy is facing a grand larceny charge and Vestal resident Jaylen Sandiford has been charged with petit larceny.
The investigation is ongoing and additional search warrants and arrests are expected in this case.
