New York State Police conducted a vehicle and traffic stop on Monday near the Route 17 on ramp in Johnson City. A hidden compartment was found in the vehicle which contained approximately 2 ounces of powder Fentanyl, numerous Oxycodone tablets, 3.5 grams of powder heroin, 23 Fentanyl strips, a small amount of marijuana, and packaging materials. Three people were arrested. 27-year-old Coren Walker from the Bronx, 40-year-old Scott Layton of Johnson City, and 24-year-old Giovanni Foster of Johnson City were charged with two felony counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and several misdemeanors. All 3 defendants were arraigned at the Broome County Central Booking Facility and remanded to the Broome County Jail without bail.
